Lenten Food Drive

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Lenten Food Drive. The parish response was extremely generous, both in food and gift cards. We collected about 200 bags of food (approximately 2,000 items). The vast majority of the food was delivered to St. Martin's Food Pantry in Gaithersburg. About twenty food bags were made up for Easter giving in the community. These donations will go a long way toward lessening hunger in our community.

If you were unable to participate last week, we will gladly accept any donations of food. Please place donations in the “Food Bin” in the back of Church.

A special thank you to all the “Service Sunday” participants. Approximately 50 volunteers showed up to lend a hand. The Children's Liturgy Group, Boy Scouts, Confirmation Candidates, Student Volunteers, SOR families and School families did an extraordinary job of sorting, repacking, loading and delivering all the food. A huge “thank you” to all. We could not have done it without you!!!

Gratefully,

The Social Concerns Committee
